Construction project management requires systematic application of principles, methods and techniques to develop infrastructure and built facilities. The construction and development projects vary in size and complexity and accordingly the project management approaches need to be adapted. Although the discipline of construction project management is well established, the advancement of technologies and innovation has created opportunities to bring efficiency and effectiveness in delivery of construction projects. Proper planning, co-ordination and management of resources and risks are vital to complete the projects within time, cost, and quality.

This Continuous Professional Development (CPD) course has been designed based on the Chartered Institute of Buildings (CIOB) project management framework covering the inception to the handover of the project to the clients. References to the current practices and new advances in technology and processes such as the concepts of Building Information Modelling, Digital Twins, Modern Methods of Construction and Sustainability will be used as examples.
